Schiller, Hazel E. (31 OCT 1936 - 
3 OCT 2012)
Hazel E. Schiller, 75, of Loyal, passed away at St. Joseph 
Hospital, in Marshfield, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. A memorial service will 
be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012. at Trinity Lutheran Church in 
Loyal, with Rev. Daniel Zimmerman officiating. Burial will take place at 
Hillside Cemetery, in Marshfield, at a later date. Visitation will be held at 
the church, on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Hazel Eileen 
Mengeling was born on October 31, 1936, in Nevada Township, Mower County, 
Minnesota, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Torguson) Mengeling. Her family 
moved to Wisconsin, when she was a baby. Hazel attended school in Richfield, 
Pittsville, Neillsville, Marshfield and graduated from Kiester High School, in 
Kiester, MN in 1955. She was united in marriage to Elwood Schiller on July 20, 
1957, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Pittsville. Hazel farmed for 57 years 
with her husband, first in Pittsville, then in Marshfield, and finally moving to 
Loyal in 1972. She also worked for two years at Weinbrenner Shoe Company in 
Marshfield, 15 years at Fiskars in Spencer, three years in the kitchen for the 
Loyal Public Schools, and seasonally at Figi's in Marshfield.
Hazel was a 
member of Trinity Lutheran Church and its TLCW, and a former member of Clark 
County Homemakers. She had many interests, but especially loved spending time 
with her family, walking with friends, the Brewers, the Packers, volunteering 
with Progressive Travel and working at Figi's.
She will be dearly missed 
by her husband, Elwood, of Loyal; her children, Edwin (Diane) of Loyal; Candace 
(Terry) Nau of Medford; Jay of Marshfield; Dean of Greenville; Steven (Laurie) 
of Marshfield; grandchildren, Scott (Leann) Schiller, Krista (Jeremy) Goessl, 
Lindsey (Nick) Wells, Jeremy Schiller, Tyler Schiller, Derek (Katelyn) Aumann, 
Maryssa Schlough, Kelsi (Josh) Trachte, Taylor Trachte; great-grandchildren, 
Evelyn, Liberty, Hailey, Payton; one brother, Wilmer (Shirley) Mengeling of Lake 
Havasu City, AZ; special family members, Allan and Julie Trachte, Sarah Bray; 
many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Earl 
Mengeling; and two sisters, Lucille Davidson and Myrtle Trachte.
