News is scarce with this cold weather.

Dr. Moore of Merrillan was in town today.

Mrs. Galloway is the guest of Mrs. Geo. Crandall.

The Rev. Smith and family have moved to Sparta.

Those reported as being on the sick list the past week are recovering.

The Social held at Mr. Stare's last Saturday evening is reported a success both financially and socially. Four dollars and thirty-six cents was added to the treasury.

Those wishing to have a good time and at teh same time cast their bread upon the waters, can do so by attending the Dime Social which will meet with Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Gilmon Saturday evening, Jan. 17th, 1885.

The Rev. Galloway and Mr. Whitman are here helping those who are engaged in getting out the pine that H.E. Howes and Warren Page so kindly contributed and the Owen Bros. offered to saw, for the purpose of building an M.E. Church.
