Habermeyer, Phyllis J. (Rock) (14 SEP 1935 - 21 DEC 2012)

Phyllis J. Habermeyer, age 77, of Abbotsford, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.

Phyllis was born September 14, 1925, in Wild Rose, ND, the daughter of Leroy and Viola (Schafer) Rock.

She graduated in 1953 from LaMars High School, in Iowa. Phyllis was united in marriage to William Habermeyer on January 6, 1954, in North Dakota. They moved to Wisconsin in 1967 and farmed in rural Curtiss until retiring in 1983. William preceded her in death on July 24, 1984.

Phyllis liked to read true crime novels, play cards and set jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by six children, Ronald (Jenny) Habermeyer, Curtiss; Gary (Sandra) Habermeyer, Marshfield; Rae (Mark) Aron, Plover; Jane (Dave) Smith, Withee; Karen (Todd) Thoreson, Abbotsford; and Wayne Habermeyer, Abbotsford; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother Wayne (Kathy) Rock, Iowa; and one sister, Sue (Steve) Hanson, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Abbotsford on Friday, December 28, 2012. Father Dan Hackel will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 9:00 am until the time of the service at the church. The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.
