Bizjak, Anna #3 (23 MAR 1878 – 11 JAN 1956)

Mrs. Anna Bizjak, 77, of Greenwood died at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital where she was a patient since December 31. For the past year she had been residing at the Clark County Hospital at Owen.

Mrs. Bizjak, the former Anna Schaschl, was born March 23, 1878, at Ferlach, Austria, where she was married to August Bizjak. Several years later the couple came to the United States and lived at Indianapolis, Ind., before moving to the Willard area more than 45 years ago. There they lived on a farm 3 miles northwest of Willard until coming to Greenwood in 1947 where Mr. Bizjak died in November of that year. After her husband’s death until she entered the hospital at Owen, Mrs. Bizjak had made her home with her children.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters: Joseph of Greenwood; August of Willard and John of Thorp; Mrs. Rose Howard of New York City; Mrs. Albert (Agnes) Wehrmann of Loyal and Mrs. Norman (Sophie) Reineking of Greenwood. Five brothers and sisters; Ferdinand Schaschl of Chicago; John of Flint, Michigan; Carl, Mrs. Magdalena Garbon and Mrs. Ida Sinkovec, all of Germany; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren survive.

Funeral services were held at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. The Rev. Charles Koch, officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter Belay, John Kaltinger, Sr., Joseph Ozanich, Joseph Franciskin, Louis Jordan and Vincent Jelercic.

During the service Mrs. Donald Ellingson sand with Mrs. Donald Dixon as accompanist.
