Becker, Tammy (13 May 1959-27 Dec. 2012)

Tammy J. Becker, 53, originally from Neillsville, and who had been living in Palm Desert, Calif, for the past 21 years, died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, from complications due to cardiac arrest in Palm Desert. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

Tammy Jane Becker was born on May 13, 1959, and was raised in Neillsville, the youngest daughter of Terry and Joyce (nee Mashin) Becker. Upon graduating from Neillsville High School in 1977, Tammy worked for her father as bookkeeper at the Neillsville Holiday Station and also worked for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources part time until 1991, when she moved to Indian Springs, Calif. She worked at Walmart in Indigo for a short time before starting her dream job working for Truly Nolen Pest Control. At Truly Nolen she starter out as a pest control technician, became certified in pest control and eventually was promoted to sales. She worked hard at her job at Truly Nolen, which earned her a membership in the Presidents Club. She was rated on her sales and was able to achieve status in the top five on a yearly basis and earned herself a yearly trip, which she willingly and graciously shared with her family and friends to such places like Hawaii, New Orleans, Hollywood, Fla., Las Vegas, Key West Fla., and cruises to Mexico, Cancun, and dozens of faraway places. Tammy enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and many friends in Wisconsin and California, fishing with her nephew, and hanging out with her dog.

Tammy is survived by her parents, Terry and Joyce Becker, her sister, Cindy (James) Ehlers; her nephew, Justin (Kristy) Ehlers; and little great niece, Andi Ehlers. She is also survived by her favorite chocolate lab, Samantha.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Helen Becker and Albert and Thelma Mashin.

Memorials may be made in Tammy’s name to a charity to be determined by her family. Tammy’s family wishes to thank all the family and friends who have prayed with them and shared their life stories. Tammy was an important part of so many people’s lives that she will be missed and loved forever. The family would also like to thank the Palm Desert Odyssey Home of Comfort, Gesche Funeral Home and Rev. John Warmuth of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Globe.

Tam, your memory will be in our hearts forever.

Online condolences may be made at www.geschefh.com.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
