Schultz, Clemens J. (21 June 1943 - 20 January 2013) With Flag

Clemens Schultz, 69, of Neillsville died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at the Neillsville Care and Rehab Center.

Clemens J. Schultz was born June 21, 1943, at home on the family farm in the Town of Pine Valley, Neillsville, the son of Leonard and Ruby Anna (Marth) Schultz. He attended Hillside Grade School in Pine Valley, middle school at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Neillsville, and he graduated from Neillsville High School in 1961. Clem then served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1966. After his honorable discharge he served with the Naval Reserve for several years. He was united in marriage to Sylvia A. Johnson Aug. 30, 1969, in Edgerton. Clem graduated from the Milwaukee School of engineering in 1974 with a degree in electrical engineering. He and Sylvia moved to Muncie, IN, where Clem began his first job with the Maxon Corporation. After three years, they moved to Brighton, MI, where he eventually became the manager of the Maxon Detroit office. After retirement, they moved back to Neillsville in 2003, where Clem continued his engineering practice as a consultant.

Clem was a member of the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post #73 in Neillsville and served as their current commander, and the Wilson-Heintz VFW Post #2241 in Neillsville. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling and riding his scooter.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; three sons, Joe Schultz of Wixom, MI, Jason Schultz of Chicago, IL, and Jon Schultz of Busan, South Korea; a brother, Marcus (Mary Beth) Schultz of Neillsville; and two sisters, Mary Ann (Roger) Ingold of Neillsville and Lorene (Allen Christensen) of Madison; along with many nieces and nephews.

Clem was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ruby Schultz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. The Celebrant will be Rev. Varkey GV. Joseph. Music will be provided by Ronald Resong, organist, and St. Mary’s Choir. Interment will be in North Pine Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Catholic Church.

Pallbearers are Joe Schultz, Jim Ingold, Roger Ingold, Denny Evanson, Hank Spencer and Bishop Kolano.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Legion Post #73, 6 Boon Blvd, Neillsville, WI 54456.
