Dorn, Mamie#3(06 FEB 1883– 02 OCT 1963)

Mrs. Archie (Mamie) Dorn, 80, passed away at the Clark County Hospital at Owen at 4 a.m., Wednesday, October 1, of old age complications.

Mrs. Dorn was born February 6, 1883 in the town of York.  Before her marriage to Archie Dorn on October 7, 1906, in Spokane, Washington, she taught in the town of York.  After their marriage, the couple lived in Spokane for several years and then returned to the home farm in the town of York.

A few years later they moved to a farm northeast of Loyal, where they resided until 1935, when they purchased a farm in the town of York.  Her husband preceded her in death in September of 1957.  She then made her home with her children.  For the past three years, she lived at the Clark County Hospital at Owen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, and one sister.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Ansel (Lucille) Petersen of Marshfield, Dale Dorn of New Lisbon, Lowell Dorn of Abbotsford, five grandchildren and tow great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by one brother, R.J. Rondorf of Mound, Minnesota.

The funeral was held at the Myre Funeral Home of Loyal, on Friday, October 4, at 2 p.m.  The Rev. Paul Doering officiating.

Two hymns were sung by Mrs. G.W. Nelson and Mrs. Paul Doering.  They were “Abide With Me” and “Under His Wings”.  The organist was Mrs. Byron Zepplin.

Pallbearers were Stanley Stevens, Ed Voight, Rollie Benedict, Neil Johnston, Carl Sischo and George Mortimer.  The Royal Neighbors attended the services in a body.

Those who attended from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Dorn, New Lisbon; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Dorn, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Peterson and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Rondorf, Mr. and Mrs. Don Brumbough, Mrs. Nona Buffington, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schwartz, Coleman; Mr. and Mrs. Hilarius Rondorf, Shawno; Mrs. Rella J. Rondorf, Mound, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Dorn and children, Abbotsford; Kenneth Olson and Albert Holt, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf and Mrs. Joe Rondorf of Greenwood.

Burial was in the York Center Cemetery.
