Darling, Merrill (9 July 1913 - 4 February 1968)
Word has been received in Neillsville of the death of Merrill Darling, 54, of
Barnum, Minn. Mr. Darling was a native of this area. He died Sunday following a
long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Barnum.
Mr. Darling was born July 9, 1913, in the Town of Grant, the son of the late
Fred Darling and Mrs. Clarence Salisbury. He received his education in the old
Reed School, east of Neillsville.
His marriage to the former Virginia Johnson took place in 1931. Mrs. Darling
died in 1967.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Marilyn) Puttney of Barnum and Mrs.
Clifford (Bernadette) Parker of Charles City, Ia. Other survivors are his
mother, Mrs. Clarence Salisbury of Neillsville; and a brother, Earl Darling of
Neillsville; and eight grandchildren.
