McGivern, Bernard (18 April 1894 - 21 April 1968)

Bernard McGivern, 74, of Stanley and formerly of Greenwood, died Sunday at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, where he was admitted two days prior following a heart attack. Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood at 9 a.m. and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Officiating was the Rev. James Binkowski.

Mr. McGivern was born April 18, 1894 in Boyd. He lived in this vicinity all his life. His wife, Catherine, died July 15, 1963. After the death of his wife, he went to Stanley, where he had resided ever since in Victory Memorial Home.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Howard (Ethel) Sullivan, Mrs. Arthur (Mae) Guthrie, both of Chicago, and Mrs. George (Margaret) Lord of Racine.
