Roberts, Edgar R. (November 27, 1927 - July 31, 2008)

 

 

Edgar R. Roberts, 80, Town of Westboro, died Thursday, July 31 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Westboro VFW Hall. Interment will be at the Arpin Cemetery.

 

Edgar Roberts was born November 27, 1927 in Taylor County to the late Evor and Grace (Woodford) Roberts.

 

He graduated from Beaver Dam High School. He served as an automotive mechanic in the United States Army during World War II. In addition to farming, he worked at Reckenthaler Electric Service in Medford and later began Roberts Electric Repair which he operated for many years.

 

He enjoyed horses, researching family history and collected antique cameras.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Pansy Waltz of Phoenix, Ariz. and Anne (Alfred) Hansen of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; and nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy; and a sister, June Roberts.

 

Hansen Funeral Home of Marshfield assisted the family with arrangements.
