Tlusty, Lawrence C. (November 6, 1914 - November 15, 2009)
 
Lawrence C. Tlusty, 95, Westboro, died Sunday, Nov. 15 at Golden
LivingCenter in Rib Lake, under hospice care.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at Good
Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Westboro. Pallbearers will be James L., Jerome, James P., Patrick, Peter and Adam Tlusty.
 
Lawrence Tlusty was born November 6, 1914 in Whittlesey to the late Ferdinand and Teckla (Reinhardt) Tlusty.
 
He attended Winding Brook Graded School, graduated from Medford High School in 1932 and earned a teaching degree at Taylor County Normal School.
 
On August 18, 1937 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Whittlesey, he married Nellie Emma Schorer, who preceded him in death on
September 6, 2005. He taught grade school in Whittlesey and Greenwood for
eight years, then began Tlusty Beverage in Medford which he owned and
operated for over 30 years.
 
In the 1940s, he became partners in the Tlusty Beverage Co. in Rib Lake. In
1953 they purchased a ranch in Westboro, then in the late 1970s moved
permanently to Westboro.
 
He had been a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, St. Theresa
Catholic Church of Westboro and Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He enjoyed
hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and
participating in political discussions.

 
Survivors include two sons, James L. (Joan) of Westboro and Jerome P. (Cynthia) of Schofield; three brothers, Walter (Margaret) and Leon (Bernice), both of Medford, and Richard of Merrill; a sister-in-law, Betty Tlusty of Chelsea; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
 
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, George (Sadie), Ernest, Allen (Dorothy) and Franklin; and an infant sister, Loretta Tlusty.
 
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family
with arrangements.
