Edward F. Schaack, 72, Milwaukee, died Thursday, June 11 at his home.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 16 at Bersek-Verbick Funeral Home in Milwaukee. Private interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake.

Edward Schaack was born October 10, 1936 in Medford to Francis and Veronica (Waegerle) Schaack.

He married Diane Czarniak and they were later divorced.

He was a retired employee of Kearney and Trecker in Milwaukee.

He loved sports of all kinds and was a big Braves, Brewers and Packers fan. He frequently watched different games on two TVs at the same time. He was well-known for running many sports pools for local establishments. Ed had an infectious laugh and enjoyed people.  After retirement, he often could be found playing his two favorite card games, sheepshead and cribbage. During summers he could be found back in his hometown of Rib Lake reminiscing with old friends about the past.

Ed took his religion seriously. It was very important to him throughout his life. He rarely missed mass and attended often. Religion gave him great pleasure.

Survivors include his mother, Veronica (Richard) Carle of Schofield; his children, Karen (Steve) Wrightsman of West Allis, Kevin (Beth) Schaack of Waukesha, Kris (Jim) Stevenson of Delafield, Katie (Brian) Kohne of New Berlin and Karol (Dave) Primus of Milwaukee; three sisters, Gale (Jim) Gilge and Mary (Gary) Burnett, both of Schofield, and Carol Blomberg of Estro, Fla.; two brothers, Jim (Kathy) Schaack of Lincoln, Calif., and Mark (friend Katie) Schaack of Wisconsin Rapids; special friend, Marlene Rhyner of Medford; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews; and relatives and friends.
