Howard, Judith Ann (Mildbrand) (June 6, 1949 - May 1, 2009)

Judith Ann Howard, 59, Hawkins, died Friday, May 1 at her home. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hawkins, with Rev. Jody Becker officiating.

The former Judith Mildbrand was born June 6, 1949 in Medford to the late Edward and Ella Mildbrand. She grew up in Dorchester.

On May 15, 1970 in Milwaukee, she married James William Howard, who survives. She lived in Milwaukee, Waukesha, and moved to Hawkins in 1980. She worked at Indianhead Home Services doing home care, and at Norco from 1987 to 2008.

She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, sewing and quilting. Many children received her baby quilts.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Jason of Hawkins; a daughter, Jennifer Voldberg of Hawkins; two brothers, Jim (Sharon) of Greenwood and John (Jack) of Wausau; two sisters, Marge Witt of Abbotsford and Arlene (Andy) Smith of Owen; two grandchildren, Aaron and Zachary Voldberg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Grace (Jack) Pribnow.

Nash-Jackan Funeral Homes of Ladysmith assisted the family with arrangements.

Judith Ann Howard, 59, of Hawkins, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at her home after a 2-year battle with cancer.

Judith was born June 6, 1949 in Medford to Edward and Ella Mildbrand. She grew up in Dorchester. She moved to Milwaukee and Waukesha then to Hawkins in 1980.

Judith married James William Howard in Milwaukee on May 15, 1970.

She was an avid gardener who loved flowers. She also enjoyed canning, sewing and quilting. Many children were recipients of her baby quilts. She worked at Indianhead Home Services doing home care. She also worked at Norco from 1987-2008. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Hawkins.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Ella Mildbrand; and her sister Grace Pribnow.

She is survived by her husband James William Howard; her son Jason James Howard of Hawkins; her daughter Jennifer Ann Voldberg of Hawkins; her grandchildren Aaron James Voldberg and Zachary Edward Voldberg; her brothers Jim (Sharon) Mildbrand of Greenwood and John “Jack” Mildbrand of Wausau; and her sisters Marge Witt of Abbotsford and Arlene (Andy) Smith of Owen; and her brother-in-law Jack Pribnow of Cornocopia.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 5, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hawkins, with Rev. Jody Becker officiating, to be followed by cremation.
