Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

The former Shirley Liske was born March 21, 1957 in Medford to Alvin and Edna (Miller) Liske.

She attended Medford area elementary schools, graduated from Medford High School in 1975 and from Western International University of Tempe, Ariz., with honors in 1990.

On May 6, 1977 in Medford, she married Jeff Pernsteiner and they later divorced.

Shirley worked at the Medford Police Department, then at Weather Shield Corp. office for periods of time. In 1979 she moved to Prescott, Ariz., and later to Phoenix, Ariz. She then worked at Salt River project in Phoenix as a computer program analyst. In 1998 she moved to San Diego, Calif., and was employed by Computer Science Corp. as an analyst and group leader.

She joined a number of horse riding clubs and was often seen riding in various parades. She was portrayed as Sacagawea in many parades she rode in. She was often involved and participated in fundraisers for handicapped children.

She was a past member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her parents, Alvin and Edna Liske of Medford; two brothers, Donald (Sandy) Liske of Medford and Mark Liske of Duluth, Minn.; two nieces, Allison (Chad) Bashor of Green Bay and Tammy (Jeff) Povolo of Kingsford, Mich.; and a nephew, Ryan (Sarah) Liske of Peshtigo.
