Buehler, Armin P. (May 30, 1924 - February 25, 2009)

Armin P. Buehler, 84, Owen, died Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, where he had resided the past 4-1/2 years.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 28 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Pastor Peter Warmanen officiating. Burial was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were Jess Carlson, Wally Emmerich, Pete Nowak, Don Zuleger, Norbert Weiler, Charlie Motte and Bob and Rod Balciar.

Armin Buehler was born May 30, 1924 in Medford to the late Paul Richard and Helen (Resech) Buehler.

He attended Brandl Elementary School in the Town of Medford.

On June 7, 1952 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway, he married Lucille Carlson, who survives. After his education he worked on the family farm in the Town of Medford. He hauled potatoes and worked road construction, then in 1947 started trucking gravel and pulp wood. In 1966 he started an excavating business, to go along with his trucking business, which he did until his retirement in 1997.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served as a director for Medford Electric Utility, Black River Golf Course and served on the City of Medford Police and Fire Commission. He also planted trees for Taylor County and helped to construct Medford's Miracle Mile. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and making maple syrup.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters, Lynette (Gerald) Pernsteiner and Susan (Douglas) Moretz, both of Medford and Julie (William) Thacker of Acworth, Ga.; a sister, Phyllis (Keith) Hutson of Sequin, Texas; a brother, Ervin of Galveston, Ind.; six grandchildren, Nicholas Pernsteiner, Philip and Jacob Lang, Lindsay Thacker, and Abigail and Erich Moretz; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
