Nikkila, Dennis Lee “Dennie” (July 26, 1946 - December 4, 2008)

Dennis "Dennie" Lee Nikkila, 62, Westboro, died Thursday, Dec. 4 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 8 at First Lutheran Church in Ogema, with Rev. Bob Giese officiating. Interment was at Chelsea Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Robert Hrabak, Kenneth Nikkila, Tom Graun, Danny Czerniak, Tony Czerniak and Tom LaShay.

Dennis Nikkila was born July 26, 1946 in Phillips to the late Harold and Bessie (Sima) Nikkila. He attended Leavitt Creek Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of Westboro High School.

On September 12, 1981 at First Lutheran Church, he married Candis Marie Felle, who survives. He was employed at Magnuson Mink Ranch and then at Marathon Cheese for 36 years where he was currently employed.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening, his begonias and dahlias, fishing in his pond and he used to cut Christmas boughs.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two brothers, Kenneth (Nancy) of Westboro and Ricky Nikkila of Marshfield; a sister, Cindy (Tom) Graun of Athens; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert L. and Margaret E. Felle.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be given to First Lutheran Church.

Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements
