Allen Deuane Beadles, age 83, of the Town of Jump River, passed away on March 27, 2011 at his home.

Deuane was born on February 9, 1928 in Jump River, Wis., the son of the late Zenas and Edith May (Wheeler) Beadles, fifth in a family of 10.

He attended Woodland Elementary School, five miles east of Jump River, and graduated from Hannibal High School in 1946. He then went to trade school in Minneapolis, Minn., and worked at the Honeywell Company for a few years.

On March 5, 1950, he was united in marriage to Louise Larson in Princeton, Minn.

A few years later they purchased a farm and moved back to Jump River where Deuane farmed and worked in the woods. He served on numerous boards, committees and organizations including the Gilman School Board, as supervisor and chairman for the Town of Jump River and Taylor County Board of Supervisors, the Federated Insurance Board, Supplemental Financing Bank Board, the Jump River Electric Cooperative Board, Dairyland Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, and was the past president for the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative in Madison, was on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Rural Housing Commission and the CFC during its infancy and growth years in Washington, D.C. Allen also was a member of the Miller Dam Lake Association, Jump River Community Center, Jump River Lions and Fire Department, and was one of those instrumental in starting the Jump River Fire Department and Gilman Ambulance.

He also served on many committees and organizations through the years too numerous to mention. Deuane loved his family and friends very much and was a friend to all and helped anyone in any way he could, and in his spare time loved to go fishing and hunting.

Deuane is survived by his children, Gary (Christine) Beadles of Jump River, Laurie (Senon) Medina of Houston, Texas, Bruce (Leah Blando) Beadles of Jump River, Lynn (Bill) Dohm of Stetsonville; his former wife, Louise Beadles; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Clarence Ray (Betty) Beadles of Minneapolis; sisters, Edith Eileen Roback of Gilman, Elna Arleen Mahoney of Burlington, Norma Jean Harshberger of Minneapolis; special friend, Carol Wildenberg; sister-in-law, Martha Johnston of Stoughton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Jump River Community Center with Pastor Luke Geraty officiating. Friends and family may call from noon until time of service at the community center. Interment of cremains will follow in the Mount Nebo Cemetery, Jump River.
