Death of Mrs. Vern Peck

New was received here yesterday morning announcing the death of Mrs. Vern Peck, which occurred at the home of her parents, in Stevens Point, the night previous at 11:25 o'clock. It is the sad ending of a young life, the passing away of a woman whose life was as pure and white as driven snow. Her death, though not unexpected, will be mourned by a community.

Mrs. Carrie Peck was the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Granville Mansur, and was born at Neenah, June 13th, 1869. In December, 1893, she was joined in marriage to Mr. Vern Peck, of this city. No happier couple lived in Marshfield than Mr. and Mrs. Peck, but a dread destroyer soon appeared to destroy their happiness. Last August Mrs. Peck contracted a violent cold, which soon developed into the first stages of consumption, since which time she has gradually Sun. About two months ago, realizing that the end was not far distant, she was taken to her home at the Point, where the tenderest care of a loving husband and the softest touch of a mother's hand, soothed the patient sufferer. She was the idol of the family and an angel in the eyes of her husband's affection. There was no death scene. Her eyes closed in a peaceful sleep and this gentle woman passed from earth to that home on high not made by hands. In their hour of affliction, the bereaved husband and relatives of the deceased have the profoundest sympathy of the entire community.

The funeral will occur to-day at 3 p.m. at Stevens Point, Rev. Rollo Branch, of this city, officiating.
