See, Kyra (23 Mar. 1917 - 15 Nov. 2008)

DAVENPORT, Iowa -- Mrs. Kyra See, 91, of Davenport, passed away Sat. Nov. 15, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.

Funeral services and a memorial Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Sat. Dec. 13, 2008, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 655 South Main Street, Poynette, Wisconsin.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, and lunch following at St. Thomas.

Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to two of Kyra's favorite charities.

Kyra Francis Curtin was born March 23, 1917, in Wood County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Daniel and Gertrude (Grosbeier) Curtin. She was united in marriage to Michael See on June 6, 1939, in Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2000.

Kyra was a teacher, retiring from the Auburndale School District in Wisconsin. She was actively involved in many community and social services organizations in the Lodi, Marshfield and Hewitt communities.

Survivors include her children, daughters and sons-in-law, Bette and Gerald Hauber, Ginny and Bill Schaufel, all of Blue Grass, Iowa, Mary and Sandy Shanks, Independence, Mo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Ann See, Wisconsin Rapids, and William and Diane See, Poynette; 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren; seven siblings and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Michael, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas See, and Daniel and Alice See, preceded her in death. May they rest in peace.
