     HAIR LIKE HER FATHER

In Tuesday's mail we received a postcard from our old friend F.W. Dempsey of Chicago.  We often get postal cards from him but this one was different for it had a picture of a stork carrying an undressed kid on a pond lily leaf and on which was printed: "Born-to Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Dempsey, July 31st, 1914, an 8 1/2 pound girl."  On the reverse side, with pen and ink, Dempsey discloses a little disgust by writing, "I got the color but not the sex, but her vote counts just the same.  She's got red hair."
