Phaneuf, Warren J. (8 JUN 1924 – 24 APR 1999)
Warren J. Phaneuf, 74, of 431 Wildwood Court, died at 1:48 p.m. April 24,
1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been admitted on April 9.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St John's Catholic Church.
The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, will officiate. Helen Brinkmann will
be the organist for St John's Church Funeral Choir.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery where military rites will be
conducted by the American Legion Post 54.
Visitation will be from 5:30 pm until 8:30 p.m. today at die Rembs/Kundinger
Funeral Home and again at the funeral home on Tuesday until service time. A
St John's Parish Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. today at the funeral
home.
Mr. Phaneuf was born June 8, 1924, in Abbotsford to Gordon Jay and Lila (nee
Paigee) Phaneuf. He married Dolores R Foltz on June 20,1946, at Christ the
King Catholic Church in Spencer.
He attended Abbotsford elementary schools and was a 1942 graduate of
Abbotsford High School Warren was a veteran of the United States Army
serving during World War II in the European Theatre from 1943 until his
honorable discharge in November 1945. In the early 1950s he became a
journeyman electrician serving in Greenland where he was a member of the
Brother Blue Nose, setting up early warning radar detection systems. After
the 1950s he was employed as a journeyman electrician in the Midwest for the
IBEW Local 388 until his retirement The Phaneufs resided in Marshfield their
entire married life.
Warren served on the Electrician's Apprenticeship Board, the Executive Board
and was a delegate for the Marshfield
He was predeceased by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in his name to the family.
