Ertl, Raymond F. (21 MAY 1921 – 24 APR 1999)

LOYAL— Raymond F Ertl, 77, of Loyal, died at 7:05 pm April 24, 1999, at St Joseph s Hospital in Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal with the Rev. Daniel E.
Zimmerman officiating.

Burial will be in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Art Hoffman, Walter Hoffman, Dave Larson, Ray Oestreich, Donald Smith, Lynn Smith and Ralph Thomas.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the church.

Kristin Cuddie, Funeral Director, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Raymond Frank Ertl was born May 21, 1921, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, to Edward and Emma (nee Marglowsky) Ertl He received his education in the Parrott County School. Following his education he was a milk hauler and farm hand.

On June 7, 1941, Ray and the former Marie Wehling were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church. Ray worked with his father-in-law on the Wehling family farm and took over in 1956. He farmed until 1998. He also worked for a few years in the 60's as an auto mechanic for Thomas Auto In December of 1998 Ray and Marie mowed to Loyal, enjoyed entering the sweepstakes. He enjoyed forming and being near his family.

He was past clerk in the Sunny Side School District and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Marie Ertl of Loyal; his daughter, Donna (Ronald) Heiting of Marshfield, his son, Ronald (Lana) Ertl of Marshfield; his sisters, Theresa Singstock and Irene (James) Morrison, all of Marshfield, Lorena (Harlynn) Kloke of Rothschild, Delores Hebert of Iron River, Midi., Rose (Ray) Jewett of California and Anita (Bernard) Pernsteiner at Holcombe; his brother; Witter (Bettye) Ertl of Fort Worth, Texas; his sisters-in-law, Laverna, Evelyn, Winifred and Lorraine Ertl, his brother-in-law, Glen Clouse; his grandsons, Paul (Liz) Heiting of Marshfield and David (fiancée Kay Bobrofsky) of Madison; his step-grandsons, Scott and David Treglowne of Marshfield, step-granddaughters, Tare (David) Smith of Spencer and Christine Treglowne of Marshfield; one great-grandchild, Erin Heiting of Marshfield and one great-grandchild expected in August.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Frank Henry, Edwin, Willie, and Amie; and one sister; Esther Clouse.
