Volz, Margaret (7 June 1915 - 25 Dec. 2008)

Margaret Volz, 93, N6950 Ellis Road, Pittsville, died Thur., Dec. 25, 2008, at the Bethel Center, Arpin.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Mon., Dec. 29, at City Point Community Church. The Rev. Fred Parker Jr., and the Rev. Peter Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers are Gene and Dave Ellis, Ken Dallman, Scott Coyle, Robert Scheel and Jeff Hanutke. Burial will be in City Point Cemetery. Visitations are from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sun. at Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mon. at the church.

Margaret was born June 7, 1915, in City Point to Loran and Sophia (Franson) Ellis. She was educated in the City Point schools. She married Gerald Volz on Nov. 19, 1945 at the Black River Falls Courthouse. The couple was a partner with Frank Ellis in Ellis-Volz Cranberry Marsh.

Margaret was a homemaker and did volunteer work for 20 years at Black River Falls Hospital. She was recognized for 5,000 volunteer hours. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bird watching and spending time with her family. She was a member of City Point Community Church, Order of the Eastern Star, East Fork Homemakers Club and Ocean Spray Cranberry Growers Association.

She is survived by her husband Gerald, sister Isabelle DeGray of Blythe, Calif., and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Howard, Frank and George Ellis. A memorial will be established at a later date.
