LaBarge, Diane D. (4 DEC 1947 – 4 OCT 2019)
Diane D. LaBarge, 71, Lake Holcombe, passed away peacefully at home under
the care of her loving family and Mayo Home Hospice on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019.
At her request there will be no public services.
Diane Smart was born on Dec. 4, 1947, to Donald and Florence Smart of Colby.
She attended Colby schools, graduating from Colby High School in 1966. She
then attended Stout State University in Menomonie majoring in home
economics. Just over 50 years ago, on July 12, 1969, she married Tom LaBarge
of Loyal, who survives. Diane was a stay-at-home Mom who became best friends
of her two daughters and loved every minute of it. She had a deep specific
passion for each grandchild with an intense interest in their projects and
studies. She loved the adventure of foreign travel that included South
Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania, Australia, Tasmania, Hong Kong, New Zealand,
Egypt, Greece, Siberia, Israel and most of Europe. Diane and her Russian
Blue cat Smokey were inseparable.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; two daughters: Tina (Steve) Dietzman
and Shelby (Jason) Billeb; and six grandchildren: Hanna Dietzman, Caleb
Dietzman, Ashton Billeb, Max Dietzman, Ren Billeb and Lawton Billeb. Diane
was preceded in death by her father, her mother, and her only brother,
Donald.
