Borgeson, Sidney A. "Sid" (27 JUN 1951 – 15 OCT 2019)

Sidney 'Sid' A. Borgeson, age 68, of Withee, WI, passed away at Aspirus Medford Hospital, in Medford, WI. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 18, 2019, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Withee. Rev. Tom Myhre officiated, and burial followed at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Pallbearers were: Mathew Borgeson, Corrie Bottlemy, Eric Borgeson, David Borgeson, Darryn Bottlemy and Grayce Bottlemy. Visitation was held at St. John's Lutheran Church, on Thursday, October 17, 2019,
from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again at the church, on Friday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Sidney Allen Borgeson was born on June 27, 1951, in Stanley, WI, to Sigfrid E. and Yvonne A. (Hutton) Borgeson. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in Withee, graduating from Owen-Withee High School in 1969. After high school, Sid continued working on the family farm with his parents. He was united in marriage to Marilyn M. Stelter on August 31, 1974, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Withee. Sid and Marilyn took over the operation of his family farm, which they did until he retired in 2001. While on the farm, he also hauled milk for his father and did custom fieldwork for his neighbors. Sid opened his own business, 'Sid's Place,' where he sold farm pieces, parts and supplies, as well as did repair work.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and served his community in many capacities. Sid was on St. John's church council, was the Chairman for the Town of Hixon, Chairman of the Fire Association, President of Riverside Cemetery Association, was on the Withee Ballpark Association and was instrumental in the building of the new ball field, served on the Chamber of Commerce, and was well known for his Papa Jo's Pancakes fundraisers.

Sid had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family, which he cherished very much, fishing, hunting, and camping.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Marilyn, of Withee; his four children: Mathew of Owen, Corrie (Matthew) Bottlemy of Withee, Eric (Jen) of Withee, and David of Owen; seven grandchildren: Darryn, Grayce, Morgen, Dawson, Maddie, Rayland, and Magnolia; one sister, Jackie (Tom) Reinke of Owen; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Jennifer Borgeson, in infancy.
