Richmond-Higby Reunion (9th – 3 August 1975)
The 9th annual Richmond-Higby family reunion was held Sunday at the
Dairyland Fox and Coon Hunters club near Christie.
Virginia Richmond and Joyce Oldham were in charge of prizes given to the
following: Viv Carteron – door prize; Fred and Myrtle Harp, living at the
same place for most years (34); Viv and Mary Carteron, couple married the
longest time (47 years); Bob and Wilma Richmond couple married the shortest
time, (2 1/2 years; Louis and Dorothy Kretlow – persons driving the oldest
model car to the reunion (1966 model); Kim Oldham – youngest child present,
(1 1/2 years); Fern Ackerman, Ogden, Utah, came the farthest distance; Laura
Richmond, most grandchildren present, (5); Bill Richmond – most children
present (4); Eunice Froelich, had the strangest hobby, holding up traffic in
her wheelchair.
Nancy Beyer was in charge of children’s games.
The 54 members present were William Richmond, Mrs. Joyce Oldham, Barbie,
Laurie, Allen and Kim of Neillsville; Fern Ackerman, Ogden, Utah, Mr. and
Mrs. Floy Richmond, Rozalton, Mn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Richmond and Jenny of
Pierz, Mn.; Mr. and mrs. Bob Richmond, Fennimore; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kretlow
of Sussex; Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gruetzmacher of Oak Forest, Il.; Mrs. Eunice
Froelich, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Beyer, Daryck and Bethany of Janesville; Mrs.
Evelyn Walthausen, Mrs. Barbara Hamm and Cindy of Barrington, Il.; Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Harp, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Richmond of Chippewa Falls; Mr. and
Mrs. Jesse Richmond, Kathie, Karen, Carole, Marvin, Ollie, Scott and Jeff
and Bryan Coyle of Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Cy Spangler, Denise and Donna of
Watertown; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Horn of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron,
Mrs. Laura Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Jerold Richmond, Wayne, Susan and Ellen,
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Horn, Luann and Allen all of Greenwood.
The next reunion will be held July 25, 1976.
