	Unger, Ethel (9 September 1888 – 17 August 1975)
	
	A life member of Carmi Chapter No. 60, OES, and former Neillsville High 
	School teacher, Mrs. Adolph (Ethel) Unger of Memorial Home died Sunday, 
	August 17, at the age of 86, Eastern Star services Tuesday evening preceded 
	funeral services held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral 
	Home. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated, and 
	interment followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
	
	Mrs. Unger was born September 9, 1888, in Knapp to James and Anna Wright 
	Smith. Much of her early lifetime was spent in Phillips, where she was 
	married June 24, 1914, to Adolph Unger. Mr. Unger died June 24, 1969.
	
	Mrs. Unger attended the Northwestern University School of Speech and taught 
	school in Oklahoma before moving to Neillsville where she taught speech and 
	English in the high school. A live member and past matron of Carmi Chapter 
	No. 60, OES, she was also a member of the United Church of Christ.
	
	Surviving are two sons, Robert Unger of Sheboygan and James Unger of 
	Oshkosh; and two grandchildren.
