Oreskovich, Frank (30 April 1918 – 14 April 2009) With Flag

Frank Oreskovich, 90, of Black River Falls, and formerly of Crosby, MN, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Pine View Care Center in Black River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, in Crosby, MN.

Friends may call at the Torgerson’s Funeral Home in Black River Falls Thursday, April 16, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, MN.

Frank Oreskovich, 90, Black River Falls, and formerly of Crosby, MN, died Tuesday, April, 14, 2009.

He was born April 30, 1918, in Manganese, MN, to Mike and Marie (Petik) Oreskovich. He married Theresa J. Valentino March 9, 1940, in Brainerd, MN. Frank served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Frank and his family moved to Black River Falls in 1969 to work as a foreman for Inland Steel.

Frank enjoyed woodworking, carpentry, fishing, hunting, and camping; he also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife; four sons, Roger (Julie) of Embarrass, MN, David (Linda) of Melrose, Donald (Monique) of Hudson and Randy (Audrey) of Black River Falls; one sister, Teresa Schwankle of Brainerd, MN; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Bruce and Robert; three brothers, Michael, Joe, Victor; and a sister, Corrine.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday April 18, 2009, from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Crosby, MN. The Rev. Howard Eisel officiated. Burial with military honors followed in the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends called Thursday, April 16, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Torgerson’s Funeral Home in Black River Falls. Visitation was also held Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby, MN.
