Hart, Willis H. (12 Apr. 1931 – 25 July 1999)

Black River Falls, Wis.

Willis H. Hart, 68, or R. 2 Black River Falls, Wis., died on Sunday, July 25, 1999, in the Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls, where he had been a resident since July 13, 1999.

Willis was born in La Crosse, Wis., on April 12, 1931, to Walter and Ada (Jostad) Hart. He was raised in Mindoro, Wisc., until 1936, when the family moved to the Irving area of Jackson County.

He graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1949. He farmed with his father until 1953, and then began farming on his own.

He married Norma G. Peterson on June 21, 1952, in Black River Falls. The couple farmed in Melrose and Irving. Norma died on March 5, 1990.

Willis was a member of the Little Norway Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three sons, Dale (Kathy) and Ronald of Black River Falls, Randy of Washington State; one daughter, Nancy Hart of Taylor, Wisc.; a very special friend, Lydia Nordahl of Black River Falls; one brother, Willard (Lilian) Hart of Black River Falls; two sisters, Margaret Stetzer of Melrose, Wis., and Valeria (Merle) Barton of La Crosse, Wisc.; five grandchildren, Jessi and Jamie Rutherford, Melissa and Max Hart and Kashmir Hart.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Jake Dale; and one sister, Ruby Jean.

Funeral services for Willis H. Hart will be Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at 1 p.m. from the Little Norway Lutheran Church. Pastor Calvin Thoreson will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Torgerson's Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 5 until 9 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from noon until the time of services.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Gilbertson, Roger Huber, Norman Blaken, and Ilett Gilbertson.

Pallbearers will be Eugene Hart, Gene Stetzer, Mark Barton, Gregory Peterson, Brian Huber and Terry Gilbertson.
