Pulling, Robert W. (15 October 1929 – 11 December 2008) With Flag

Robert W. Pulling, 79, of Hixton died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, of lung cancer.

He was born Oct. 15, 1929, in Clarissa, MN, to Merle and Lois (Street) Pulling.

He moved to Moose Lake at a young age and graduated from Moose Lake High School.

He served in the Korean Conflict War and was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart.

He married Leta Hofmaister, and they have seven children.

Robert later became an over-the-road trucker with his second wife, Sharon Gruber. They drove from one coast to the other for 26 years, retiring three years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; five sons, Harold, Terry, Mark, Bill and Brian; two daughters, Leta Ann and Sabrina; one stepson, Robert Gruber; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; one brother, Yale of Hibbing, MN; and one sister Grace Autio of Floodwood, MN.

A Memorial is being planning at a later date.
