Stanhope, Korey A. (19 September 1982 – 26 December 2008)

Korey A. Stanhope, 26, Green Bay and formerly of Black River Falls passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at his home.

He was born to Michael and Cheryl (Conant) Stanhope Sept. 19, 1982, in La Crosse. Korey grew up in Black River Falls. During high school he moved with his family to Appleton, where he then attended Kimberly High School until his graduation. Following high school, Korey moved to Green Bay where he worked for Quality Sandblasting and, most recently C&L Contracting, where he was a bridge painter and sandblaster.

Korey enjoyed the outdoors, including hunting, fishing and riding 4-wheelers. He was also an avid sports fan and liked to watch races, football and hockey.

He is survived by his parents, Michael (Tracy Dufay) and Cheryl; aunts, Deb (Mike) Randals of Black River Falls, Brenda (Gary) Hintz of Black River Falls, Debora (Glenn) Olson of Black River Falls, Mary Beth (Michael) Smith of Port Charlotte, FL, and Lisa (Carl) Chase of Milwaukee; cousins, Kimberly and Michael Randals, Marshall and Heather Hintz and Nicholas and Joseph Olson; paternal grandparents, Beverly Stanhope of Black River Falls and Donna Stanhope of Chilton.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Harley Stanhope; maternal grandparents, Joan and Eldon Conant; and paternal great-grandparents, Roy and Mildred Stanhope.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, 1 p.m. at Buswell Funeral Home, Black River Falls. Chaplain Kevin Newell will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Shamrock.

Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
