Funeral services were held Wednesday for John L. Johnson, 82, who died Monday morning at his home in Curtiss.

The Rev. Roger Tellock officiated at the services, which were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, Curtiss.  Burial was made in the Evangelical Lutheran cemetery.

John L. Johnson was born May 16, 1882 in Sweden.  He came to this country with his parents in 1892 and they settled in Colby.  Later, the family moved to a farm near Curtiss, where he lived until his retirement in 1958.  Mr. Johnson never married.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church.

Survivors include a brother, Henry Johnson, Curtiss; and four cousins, Mrs. Hilda Strathman, Colby; Ivan Larson, Marshfield; Walter Larson, Wausau; and Elmer Larson, Waupaca.  He was preceded in death by one brother.
