Chamberland-Orth

Wednesday, June 30th, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, occurred the wedding of Miss Jeanette Orth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Orth of Colby and Edward J. Chamberland of Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Chamberland. The Rev. N. B. Beschta celebrated at the Nuptial High Mass at which the double ring ceremony took place.

The attendants of the bride were her neice, [sic] Miss Donna Mae Pudlas, Forreston, Ill. and Miss Jane Lukowiez. The best man was Emory Orth, brother of the bride and the groomsman was Cpl. Eugene Chamberland, Anchorage, Alaska, brother of the groom.

The bride was gowned in white slipper satin fashioned with an all over lace top featuring a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. The full skirt extended into a long court train. Her fingertip veil was fastened to a lace Hollander type headdress. She carried a silver rosary and a cascade bouquet of pink and yellow tea roses and regal lilies.

The maid of honor, in yellow and the bridesmaid in mint green, wore identically styled gowns of taffeta, with bouffant skirts. Matching gauntlets and sweetheart bonnets completed the ensembles. Their colonial bouquets were of yellow and white carnations.

Dinner and supper were served to the immediate families at the home of the bride’s parents. In the evening a dance was held at Walter’s pavilion at Colby.

The bride, a graduate of the Colby High School, has been employed for three years as bookkeeper at the Commonwealth Telephone Company in Colby. The groom was graduated from the Spencer High School and is now employed by the Roddis Lumber and Veneer Co., in Marshfield.

Following a short wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, the young couple will reside at 504 W. Cleveland St., in Marshfield.
