Frank Hamm, Sr. (18 Jul 1886 – 28 Aug 1954)

Funeral services for Frank Hamm, Sr., 68, were held from Salem Evangelical United Brethren church here Tuesday afternoon. The Rev. Harold Welch, pastor, officiated at the rites at 2:00 o'clock, and burial was in Pine Hill cemetery at Curtiss, under the direction of Fuchsgruber Funeral Service which had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Joe Geiger, Frank Stoiber, August Sauter, Richard Schmidt, Elmer Voightlander, Charles Stewart, Archie Ackerman, and Oscar Halverson.

Frank Anton Hamm was born July 18, 1886, in the Town of Holway, Taylor county. He was reared there, and on June 25, 1908, was married to Hattie Perlberg at Hurley. In his youth he worked as a woodsman in the forests of this area, and after marriage settled on a farm in the Curtiss area. The family lived there for 42 years, until he retired from active farming and moved to the village in August of 1950.

Survivors include the widow, four sons, William Hamm, Medford; Frank Hamm, Jr., Curtiss; Henry Hamm, Milwaukee; and Edward Hamm, Owen; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Hannah) Rahn and Mrs. Ernest (Adeline) Neitzel, Curtiss; Mrs. Elmer (Amelia) Neitzel, Town of Holway, 18 grandchildren. A brother and two sisters also survive. They are: Fred Hamm, Owen; Ella Taylor, Illinois; and Anna Wagner, West Bend. Two sisters, Amanda and Edith, and a brother, William, preceded him in death.
