Meacham, Evelyn (1948)

Ringquist-Meacham

Trinity Lutheran Church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Evelyn Meacham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Meacham, Spencer, and Lloyd Ringquist, Marshfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Ringquist of Unity. The young couple exchanged vows before Rev. Raymond Fleming of the First Methodist Church, Marshfield.

The bride wore an entrained gown of white marquisette and a fingertip veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers with rosebuds cascading on the streamers.

Mrs. Verlund Goetz, Marshfield, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, was dressed in a light green taffeta gown with marquisette trimming and a matching bonnet. Her colonial bouquet of mixed flowers was similar to that carried by the bride.

Miss Jeanette Meacham, Stockton, cousin of the bride was bridesmaid. She was dressed in a yellow gown similarly styled, a matching sweetheart bonnet and she also carried colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

Attending the groom was his nephew Glendon Johnson, Abbotsford, as best man; and Mr. Goetz as groomsman. Virgil Seefeldt, Spencer and Frank Goetz, Jr. Colby, ushered.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the church basement and a 5 o’clock dinner was served there.

The bride is a graduate of the Spencer High School and the Wisconsin Academy of Beauty Culture. She now owns and operates the Spencer Beauty Shoppe.

Mr. Ringquist was graduated from the Unity High School and served in the Army during World War II. He is employed in the advertising department of the Marshfield News-Herald.

After a wedding trip to Manitoba, Canada, north of Winnipeg, the couple will reside at 404 W. Sixth St. Marshfield.

Guests from away for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Davis, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goetz, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meacham, Stockton; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Schwantes, Colby; Glendon and Raymond Johnson, and Miss Elain Laenleke, Abbotsford; Mrs. Nellie Erickson, Minnesota; and Lester Burmeister, Marshfield.

The Record joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
