Joseph F. Konecny (8 May 1871 - 10 Dec 1961)

Funeral services for Joseph F. Konecny, pioneer resident of the town of Holton, were held from Salem Evangelical United Brethren church Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Harold Welch, pastor officiated at the rites at 2 PM. Mrs. Jerome Rankl was organist, and played accompaniment for Mrs. Frank Rauscher and Mrs. Orlean Pope who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset.”

Masonic services were held in the church with Sherman Loos of Colby orator. Funeral rites of the Order of the Eastern Star, with Mrs. W. P. Lehnertz, worthy matron, in charge were held at 7:45 PM Tuesday in Fuchsgruber Funeral parlors, where the deceased lay in state.

Mr. Konecny, 90, died about 7:00 AM Sunday in a Wausau nursing home where he had been a patient the past two years. His death was attributed to the complications of his advanced age.

Burial was held in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Fuchsgruber Funeral Service which had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers, Masonic brethren of the deceased, were Vane Gokey, Jr., Wilbur Kuehnast, Frank Rauscher, Alfred Hinke, M. S. Sorenson and W. P. Lehnertz.
