Evans, Lillian F. (4 Oct. 1900 - 8 Oct. 1999)

Lillian F. Evans, 99, formerly of Rhinelander, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls.

She was born Oct. 4, 1900, in Chicago, to Charles and Josephine Hoker. She grew up in Chicago where she married Frank Peters. They resided in Oaklawn, Ill., Deerbrook and in Hazelhurst where they owned a resort. They moved to Rhinelander, where they owned and operated Frank's Fine Foods Restaurant.

Mr. Peters preceded her in death in 1957. She continued to work as a cook in Rhinelander.

In 1970, Lillian married Lester Evans in Rhinelander. He preceded her in death in 1971. She moved to the Evergreen Manor in Rhinelander where she resided for 25 years. She moved to the Rutledge Home in Chippewa Falls in 1995.

Survivors include two grandchildren, Judi (Glen) Robison of Chippewa Falls and Jerry (Tina) Krause of San Angelo, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brett and Dustin Hansen, Frank and Denise Krause and Brian and Matthew Robison; and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides her two husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, June Krause on Dec. 18, 1956; three sisters, Margaret Zeman, Anna Zetek and Jewel Tristano; four brothers, Jim, Chick, Arthur and Frank Hoker.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12 at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Stacie Schubert of Central Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Rhinelander.
