Feuerstein, Lewis (1 June 1953 - 4 July 2000)

STANLEY — Lewis “Pat” Patrick Feuerstein, 47, of 11662 County Hwy. H, Stanley, town of Delmar, died Tuesday, July 4, 2000, at his residence.

He was born June 1, 1953, in Ionia, Mich. the son of Lewis and Marie (Jakeway) Feuerstein. He grew up in the area and attending area schools, graduating as Valedictorian from Belding High School in 1971. In 1976 he received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors from Michigan State University.

Lewis married Sharon Lingen on April 21, 1979, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley. They lived in the Greenwood-Loyal area and Lena, Wis. area where he practiced before coming to Stanley where he merged with Dr. Michael Navratil at Wolf River Veterinary in 1980. In 1990 they merged with Stanley Veterinary Service. In 1996 he was president of the Northwestern Wisconsin Veterinarian Association.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Stanley Chamber of Commerce, Stanley Lion’s Club and the F.F.A. Alumni in which he was always involved in their tree sales.

Lewis was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, belonging to the National Wild Turkey Federation, Safari Club, Whitetails Unlimited, Duck’s Unlimited, and Taylor County Sportsman’s Club. He also enjoyed tree farming in which he was Taylor County’s Tree Farmer of the Year in 1998 and belonged to Northwest Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Club.

He also enjoyed ATV riding, traveling and being with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; one son, Robert Patrick; and one daughter, Jennifer, all of Stanley; one brother, John (Kathy) of Wyoming, Mich.; one sister, Gloria Rich of Greenville, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis in 1983; his mother, Marie in 2000; and a brother, Charles in 1987.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley.

Friends may call from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Plombon Funeral Home, Stanley, with a Parish Vigil Service to be recited at 8 p.m.
