Schmidt, Bonnie Rae (30 August 1980)

Bonne Rae Schmidt and Erwin Lee Erickson were joined in marriage by the Rev. James Logan during wedding rites on the afternoon of Saturday, August 30, in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Schmidt, Rt. 2 Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Erickson, Rt. 4 Neillsville.

With her presenting her to the altar, the bride and the groom heard special music offered by Darla Rueth and Robert and Connie Meyer.

April Palms, a friend of the bride from Deerfield, Illinois, was maid of honor. She was joined by Beverly Schmidt, a sister of the bride from Loyal; Bernice Schmidt, another sister from Loyal; and Kathy Kurkowski, the bride’s cousin from St. Paul, Mn.

Terry Luchterhand, a friend of the groom from Neillsville, was bestman. He was assisted by brothers of the groom, Eugene Erickson of Marshfield, Ernest Erickson of Neillsville and Evan Erickson of Eau Claire. Ushering were Bruce Schmidt and Dennis Erickson.

The bride chose a silk, organza gown trimmed with Chantilly lace and seed pearls and featured a Queen Anne neckline, bishop sleeves and a skirt that swept to a cathedral length train. Her fingertip-length veil was trimmed with Chantilly lace. She carried a bouquet of silk roses and carnations. Her attendants wore gowns of apricot, green, blue and yellow and were designed with spaghetti straps, sunburst pleated skirts and sheer capes.

Following the ceremonies, a reception, dinner and dance was held at the Loyal American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a wedding trip to an undisclosed destination.

The bride is a 1977 graduate of Loyal High School and in 1978 from District I Technical Institute of Eau Claire. She is presently employed by the White Horse Inn in Neillsville. The groom is a 1976 graduate of Neillsville High School and works for Kuhl’s Implement, Granton. The couple will make their home on Emery Street in Neillsville.
