Vania, Dawn (23 August 1980)

The Rev. Norman W. Lindloff performed the marriage ceremonies at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville on the afternoon of Saturday, August 23, for Dawn Vania and James Aumann, of Algoma. Parents of the couple are John and Pat Vania of Algoma and Marvin and Ann Aumann, Rt. 2 Neillsville.

Denise Dreese, a sister of the bride from Anchorage, Alaska, was matron of honor. She was joined by Laura Kuehn of Coleman, Jeanne Aumann and Mari McAllister, all of Neillsville, friends of the bride.

Steve Brey, an Amherst friend of the groom, was bestman. He was joined by Neillsvillites Lee Kuechenmeister, a friend; Ron Aumann, a brother, and Bill Aumann, another brother. Ushering were Mark, Mike and Tom Vania, all brothers of the bride.

“The Wedding Song” and “The Lord’s Prayer’ were musical selections offered by Linda Krehmeyer.

For her day, the bride chose a chiffon gown featuring Chantilly lace and capped sleeves. She carried peach and brandy-colored silk roses and baby’s breath, the roses were made by the bride and her matron of honor. Her attendants were attired in peach-colored chiffon gowns and carried white and peach-colored silk roses adorned with baby’s breath. The groom and his attendants were attired in ginger-colored tuxedos.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at St. John’s School with a dance later at the Silver Dome Ballroom. The couple then left on a northern Wisconsin wedding trip.

The bride is presently attending UW-Stout. The groom is a Neillsville High School graduate and also a graduate of District I Technical Institute of Eau Claire. He is employed by the Neillsville Bakery. They will make their home in Eau Claire.
