Arndt, Marian E. (6 July 1914 – 8 January 1988)

Rev. Loren Hickerson conducted funeral services on Monday, January 11, at the United Church of Christ for Marian E. Arndt, 73 of Neillsville. Mrs. Arndt passed away suddenly on Friday morning, January 8.

Deon Spangler accompanied the UCC Senior Choir. Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Sam Ray, Pink Van Gorden, Art Drescher, Robert Lulloff, Thad Zajac and Kenneth Olson.

The former Marian Huntley was born in Neillsville on July 6, 1914, the daughter of Grover and Ella A. (Schultz) Huntley. After graduating with the Neillsville High School Class of 1932, she taught at Dells Dam School for several years and also was employed at Clark County Insurance Agency for many years.

On September 29, 1945, she married Raymond A. Arndt, in Neillsville, and they moved to Thorp where she worked at Mid-State Insurance Agency. After the death of her husband on June 29, 1967, she continued working until retirement when she returned to Neillsville. She was a very active member of the United Church of Christ and its Sewing Circle.

Surviving is a son, Gene Zaske of Excelsior, MN; her mother Ella A. Huntley of Neillsville; and two granddaughters, Lynn and Cheryl. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father and a son, Robert.
