Lindgren, Axel Gustof (5 September-10 June 1983)

OWEN -- Axel G. Lindgren, 84, Route 1, Owen, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday at his home in the Town of Green Grove, Clark County.

Services will be Monday at Owen Alliance Church. The Rev. Dennis Thomas will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Visitation will be at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

Axel Gustof Lindgren was born September 5, 1898 in Chicago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustof Lindgren. He received his education in Waukegan, Illinois. He moved to the Town of Green Grove in 1913, where he farmed and was a milk hauler. He was employed at the Griebenow Hardware Store in Owen.

He married Roxie E. Poe October 24, 1936 in Owen. He was a charter member of the Owen Alliance Church and served on the School Board of the Bee Hive School, Town of Green Grove.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Everett G. Lindgren of Withee; one daughter, Mrs. Chester (Roxann) Larson of Canyon, Minnesota; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Lindgren of Mattson, Illinois; two sisters, Mrs. Violet Johnson of Chicago and Mrs. Harold (Delores) Hockett of Merrillville, Indiana. He was predeceased by five brothers.
