Sandra I. Volz and Kenneth H. Ryczek were united in marriage on Saturday afternoon, September 20, by the Rev. Norman Lindloff in ceremonies at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Volz, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ryczek of Baraboo are parents of the couple.

Sally Smith, the bride’s sister from Neillsville, was matron of honor, Gail Walker, a friend from Neillsville, Donna Piotrowski, a friend from Stevens Point, and Debra Harrison, the groom’s sister from Baraboo were the bridesmaids.

Serving as bestman was David DeMars, a friend of the groom from Middleton. He was joined by Scott Sprecher of Baraboo and William Dawson of Eau Claire, both friends of the couple, and Don Harrison, the groom’s brother-in-law from Baraboo. Ushering were Michael Smith, the bride’s brother-in-law from Neillsville, and Robert Brown, the groom’s cousin from Rothschild.

The bride wore a Victorian-styled gown of sheer ivory, Old English lace, Schiffli yoke, bishop sleeves and chapel-length train. Her picture hat was detailed with ruffles of Old English lace and an ivory satin ribbon. She carried a bouquet of peach-colored Sonia roses and starburst mums. Her attendants wore apricot-colored gowns in the empire-style, complete with ivory lace trim; they carried colonial bouquets of starburst and regular mums. The groom chose a beige Royale-style tuxedo with candlelight colored ruffled shirt; his attendants wore Versailles-style beige tuxedos with dark brown vests and pants.

Offering special music at the service were Mrs. Paul Tess and Sharon Nemitz.

Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Neillsville American Legion Hall. The couple then left on a trip to Vero Beach, Florida.

The new Mrs. Ryczek is a graduate of Neillsville High School and is employed as a secretary for Thorp Financial Services of Madison. Her husband, a graduate of Baraboo High School and Madison Area Technical College, is manager of AAMC Transmissions, Madison. They will make their home in Middleton.
