Gary and Jane Slaats have been announced as new owners of the Clark County Press, a weekly newspaper based in Neillsville.

The couple purchased the newspaper from Robert Harvey, publisher since 1958. Transfer was official July 1, 1977, but the Slaats had been in charge of the newspaper for several months prior to that. Slaats has served as editor and assistant publisher for several montsh, while his wife has been in charge of advertising and business functions.

Mrs. Slaats, the former Jane Harvey, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey. Her ownership marks the third generation of the family in ownership of the weekly. Her grandfather, the late Wells F. Harvey, purchased the newspaper enterprise in 1938.
