Timmler, Fred & Rose (50th Anniversary-17 May 1983)

Mr. and Mrs. Red (Rose) Timmler of Loyal celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary Saturday.

An open house was at the American Legion Hall at Loyal, A dinner for about 300 people was served and a dance followed that evening.

Timmler was born July 24, 1905 at Neillsville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin (Clara) Timmler. He received his education in Neillsville public schools, graduating in 1923 from Neillsville High School. He worked on his parents' farm before marriage.

The former Rose Humke was born October 26, 1909 in the Town of Warner, Clark County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore (Adeline) Humke. She received her education at Clark County rural schools, Greenwood High School, Neillsville County Normal School and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

They were married May 17, 1933 at Immanuel United Church of Christ by the Rev. Paul Franzmeier.

The couple retired from farming in 1968. Mrs. Timmler, who taught in several rural schools in Clark County, concluded her teaching career in 1976 at Loyal Elementary School as a first grade teacher.

They are members of Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood.

They have three children, Robert of Milwaukee, Loraine Lindner of Loyal and Irving of Greenwood; and 10 grandchildren.

Attendants at the original marriage present for Saturday's event were Edwin Timmler of Marshfield, Harold Dettman of Kewauskum and Cora Slock of Eau Claire.
