Schwantes, Anna (24 Oct. 1881 - 22 May 1951)

Spencer - Mrs. Anna Schwantes, 69, died at her home here last night at 8:15 o'clock following an illness of about two years.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Randolph Mueller will officiate and burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery. The body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home from tonight until 11 o'clock Friday morning when it will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Schwantes, nee Anna Korth, was born Oct. 24, 1881, in Milwaukee. She married Frank Schwantes in Milwaukee on Dec. 22, 1908, and shortly after that moved to a farm 3 miles east of Spencer where she lived until 15 years ago. As a young woman Mrs. Schwantes worked as a seamstress in Spencer. Her husband preceded her in death on May 8, 1923.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Bauer, Spencer, and two sons, Raymond Schwantes, Libertyville, Ill., and Alex Schwantes, Ashland. Other survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Cramer, Mrs. Augusta Carey, and Mrs. Frank Oelrich, all of Spencer; and four brothers, Frank and Fred Korth, both of Spencer; William Korth, Augusta; and Ernest Korth, Neillsville. Five grandchildren are also surviving.

Mrs. Schwantes was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
