Kraus, Edward (19 May 1920 - 24 Feb. 1960)

Edward Kraus, 39, Janesville, died Wednesday evening of multiple sclerosis in a hospital at Madison where he had been a patient for three months.

Funeral services have been set for 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew's Catholic Church at Rozellville. The Rev. Carl Wohlmuth will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Hanson Funeral Home beginning this evening. A general rosary service will be held there at 8 p.m. Friday. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites at the graveside.

Mr. Krause was born at Rozellville, May 19, 1920, and was educated there. He resided at Rozellville until his marriage to the former Emma Hood in Sacred Heart parsonage here on Sept. 10, 1940. After their marriage they lived in Marshfield until six years ago when they moved to Janesville, where he had been employed at the Fischer Body Company. While here he was employed at the Weinbrenner Shoe Factory and later as dairy inspector in Wood County, He entered service Dec. 8, 1943, and was stationed at Camp Grant, Ill., until July, 1944, when he went to Camp Reynolds, Pa., leaving there for overseas about Sept. 30.

He was a member of St. Mary's Church at Janesville.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Judy, 11, Lynn, 10, and Sherry, 7; two sons, Jeffry, 6, and Ricky, 20 months; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Kraus Sr., Rozellville; eight sisters, Mrs. Martin (Lorraine) Mancl, Milladore; Mrs. Emil (Margie) Oertel, Sherry; Mrs. Jack (Laverne) Fahey, Rozellville; Mrs. Roland (Anita) Hupe, Mrs. Ronald (Agnes) Rehlinger, Mrs. Roman (Virginia) Stauber and Mrs. Richard (Marilyn) Wagner, all of Marshfield; Mrs. Norbert (Marian) Paszek, Wausau, and six brothers, Leroy Kraus, Rozellville; Louis Kraus Jr., Wausau; Jerald Kraus, Marshfield; Thomas, James and Kenneth Kraus, all of Janesville.
