Remus, Carol (Marriage - 19 Sept. 1959)

Miss Carol Remus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Remus, Edgar, and Robert Viegut, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Viegut, Route 1, Edgar, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran church, town of Wien. The Rev. Henry Krikau performed the ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of silk organza over nylon net and taffeta. Her finger tip veil was secured to a velveteen half hat with sequins and pearl trim. Her bouquet was crescent shape and was made with a white orchid, yellow roses and stephanotis.

Mrs. Connie Hoefs was her sister’s matron of honor. Miss Marie Remus and Miss Elaine Remus, two other sisters, and Mrs. Helen Viegut were bridesmaids.

They wore emerald green sheath dresses of silk with lace bodices and overskirts fastened in front with self bows. Their head dresses were halo veils caught to half hats. They carried crescent shaped bouquets of pink gladioli and yellow and white mums.

Jeanette Remus, miniature bride, was dressed identical to her sister and was escorted by Allan Klimpke.

Richard Viegut was best man for his brother. Harvey Hoefs, Douglas and Melvin Viegut were groomsmen and Donald Remus and David Viegut served as ushers.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents and dinner was served at the church parlors. The new Mr. and Mrs. Viegut greeted friends at a wedding dance at Rib River ballroom.

The bride is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school and is employed by the Wausau Water Department. The groom is employed at Harak’s Refrigeration. They will live at 830 ½ Steuben Street, Wausau.
