Johnsrud, Lillian Ruth (6 Mar. 1915 - 26 Apr. 2009)

SPENCER -- Lillian Ruth Johnsrud, 94, of Spencer, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Revs. Karl Rose and Robert Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Spencer, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lillian was born March 6, 1915, in Spencer, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Korth) Oelrich. She graduated from Spencer School and completed two years of college.

The former Lillian Oelrich was united holy marriage to Alfred Johnsrud at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, on Dec. 22, 1973. He preceded Lillian in death.

In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Mrs. Johnsrud worked as a shoe cutter for Weinbrenner Shoe Company.

Lillian cherished the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and baking. She was also renowned for having her candy and doughnuts.

Mrs. Johnsrud was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. Lillian is lovingly survived by two children, Jean (George) Mess and Dennis (Ellen) Woodkey, both of Spencer; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Woodkey; one sister, Bonnie (Bill) Plath; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She will truly be missed.

Mrs. Johnsrud is preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Teddy; three brothers; and two sisters.

A memorial in Lillian's name will be established at a later date.
