Lloyd R. Pilgrim, 88, Edgar, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 at Colonial Center, Colby.

 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church, High Steeple. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will preside. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. at the Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Lloyd R. Pilgrim, 88, Edgar, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Colonial Center, Colby. He was born May 10, 1921, in Edgar, son of the late Herman and Elsie (Rietzow) Pilgrim.

 

On June 7, 1958, he married Helen Oldenburg at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gleason. She preceded him in death Nov. 20, 1994.

 

Lloyd was a farmer who enjoyed raising hogs and sold eggs at local grocery stores. Some of his interests included woodworking and stamp collecting. He was also a Sunday School superintendent and teacher at St. John Lutheran Church, High Steeple, and was active with the Wien Wildcats 4-H Club for many years.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Don) Powell, Lino Lakes, Minn.; two sons,

Donald (Cindy Smith) Pilgrim, Edgar, and Richard (Lisa) Pilgrim, Wausau; five

grandchildren, Elizabeth Powell, Ashton Hocking, Cory, Robert and Lindsay Pilgrim; one great-grandchild, Alexia Pilgrim; one brother, Clarence (Violet) Pilgrim, Stratford; and other relatives and friends.

 

Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by one brother, Orville.

 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at St. John Lutheran Church, High Steeple. The Rev. Jeffrey Lambrecht will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the church. There will be a prayer service 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
